Meet Our Family

Hi there! We’re Troy and Heather Leak, the proud owners of Midwest Prime Farms and The Market by Midwest Prime Farms. We've been married for 31 years and are blessed with three amazing sons and one daughter in-law who each contribute to the farm in their own unique ways.

• Ethan, our oldest, works alongside us on the farm and proudly represents the sixth generation of our family to embrace farming—a rare and cherished legacy.
• Caleb, our middle son, is pursuing his dream of becoming a dentist at IU Dental School.
• Timmy, our youngest, is a Freshman at Huntington University pursuing his passion of bible and theology.

Our farm is located in the heart of West Central Indiana, where we grow corn, soybeans, and hay. Alongside these crops, Troy has always nurtured a passion for raising cattle—a tradition that’s been a part of our marriage for over three decades.

How Midwest Prime Began

Providing clean, healthy food for our family has always been a priority. In 2019, we decided to expand our mission beyond our kitchen table and offer our high-quality beef to families like yours. That was the moment Midwest Prime Farms was born!

Since then, we’ve grown to include laying hens, broiler chickens, and Berkshire pigs, allowing us to offer a variety of premium meats. Today, we’re committed to making farm-fresh, Indiana-raised meats as easy to access as what you find at the grocery store—but with the added confidence of knowing exactly where and how your food was raised. 

In October 2023, we took another big step by opening The Market by Midwest Prime Farms in Oxford, Indiana. The Market is a small, community-focused store offering local meat, produce, dairy, eggs, honey, homemade baked goods, freezer meals, gifts, and handmade items. It's all about bringing easier access to wholesome, farm-raised food and goods to our local community while continuing our mission of bridging the gap between farmer, maker, and consumer.

*Update: after opening our market, we took a break from raising pork and poultry to focus on the new business. We do plan to bring these animals back to our farm in the near future.

How It Works

Processing

• All of our beef  are processed at a local USDA facility here in Indiana.
  

After processing and dry-aging, your meat is vacuum-sealed for peak freshness and frozen to lock in flavor.

Delivery

Your meat will arrive frozen, packaged in insulated materials, and shipped with dry ice if necessary to ensure it stays fresh.
